History Repeating Itself

It's been a few weeks since their respite in Mumbai, and Face's leg has healed up just fine. He's up to his old tricks tonight, conning information from the campaign manager for the corrupt politician they're investigating. Murdock's got the responsibility of meeting him at the rendezvous point.

"You look like that went well," he observes dryly as Face slides into the passenger seat.

The ankle's still not 100%, but he gets around well enough that it's hard to tell until the limp starts to come back with a vengeance - so it's good enough to work. At least the sort of easy job that getting a little information out of a target full of booze.

Face flashes him a grin, leaning over to brush a kiss against his cheek smelling faintly of a strong cologne that's not his own and just a little bit of scotch.

"It's going down tomorrow night, I even got the hotel room number." He says, slipping a cocktail napkin with the hotel's name and room number as well as a DC area phone number written on it out of his pants pocket to a much safer shirt pocket.

"Nice."

The unfamiliar scent gets him a questioning look, but he doesn't say anything until they're pulling up in front of their current hidey hole.

"Boss'll be glad you got the intel."

"He better be..." Face groans, leaning back against his seat a long moment before adding; "he really has no idea what I have to go through to do this. It's not like I can just pull information out of my ass."

His blood's practically boiling, even five years before he'd have pinned the guy down in the alley behind the bar and made good on his promises right then and there. But now... now there's other things to consider. Better things.

"Yeah, I know you've got your ways."

He opens the door, sliding out from behind the wheel with a sigh.

"You comin'?"

"For you?" He pops the door with an even wider grin; "I'm halfway there..."

He can't help the lusty tone in his voice, laying it on extra thick as he slides out of the cab with as quick a step as he can manage.

Ah ... he's in that mood again.

He nudges him with his shoulder affectionately as they get to the hotel room. As it's one of the welcome occasions where they can afford two rooms, Hannibal and BA are nowhere to be seen. They'll have to report in, but for now it's late and he's tired.

More or less always not too far from that mood, but tonight a lot more so than usual.

Wrapping his arm around Murdock's waist, Face tucks his fingers into his partner's pocket and holds him close - nuzzling against his neck when the door closes behind them.

"I think we can probably let them know in the morning..." he murmurs, knowing full and well he'll catch Hannibal up pacing late at night while Murdock's asleep.

Assuming he actually sleeps, which isn't really a sure thing on most nights. Tonight's looking likely, though.

"Bed," he agrees, pulling back to wriggle out of his shirt.

One of the perks of running him ragged is that he sleeps better that night.

"Mmm, bed..." Face wiggles his eyebrows, more than happy to shoulder off his suit jacket and start down the row of buttons on his shirt. "You read my mind."

"I'm good at that."

Shoes and pants are off next, and then he's faceplanting onto the mattress in his underwear.

"Hello, bed."

"Mmmhmm..." he murmurs, stripping down to his boxer briefs as he watches Murdock snuggle into a comfortable spot near the center of the bed.

"And hello Murdock..." he grins wide, crawling into bed on top of him, kissing him on the shoulder. "God I missed sharing a bed the last week."

"Mmm, me too."

He pulls Face towards him, turning to entwine their limbs together, clinging almost uncomfortably tight.

"I sleep better when we're together."

Among other things.

He appreciates the tight wrap of his partner's arms and lowers himself around him to squeeze as best as he can - pressing small kisses to his stubbled cheeks and chin.

"Mmmhmm... me too." Though, admittedly, he sleeps hard just knowing he's safe and with Murdock around he rarely feels safer.

The lingering smell of old cologne nags at him like an old sore spot as he takes a deep breath.

He's here, he came home

"Love you so much."

His eyes warm at the words, his smile spreading. Part of him's still back at the bar, still honestly wondering what it would have been like to go through with it...

A part that's thankfully shrunk enough that he didn't give in to the lingering urge to do what he knows best.

"Love you more..." he murmurs, kissing him deep enough that Murdock can taste the scotch and cigar on his breath.

"Nuh-uh."

He smiles, warming to his partner's tender touches even as he registers the taste of smoke and alcohol.

"Pretty sure it's impossible to love someone more than I love you."

Kissing his way back to Murdock's ear, he nips gently and whispers; "Just as much, then... completely... in every way."

His body's buzzing with aroused energy, and he's not exactly shy about rubbing the front of his shorts against Murdock's - letting him feel the slight push of his partial hard on through the fabric.

"Every way."

"Just as much... I like that."

He arches up against him, taking things slow as he feels the friction build. Face knows exactly what buttons to press and which places to touch to get him going.

"All the ways that matter, right babe?"

"Mmmhmm," he murmurs, rocking his hips a little harder when Murdock pushes back against him - the delightful rush of fabric against his arousal making him even more excited.

"The best ways..." He kisses his ear and then down to the side of his neck, nibbling gently. "Mine."

"Yours," he agrees, carding his fingers through the soft curls at the nape of his neck.

"Always have been, always will be."

Brushing his rings over Murdock's cheek before holding them up, he smiles and whispers; "And I'm yours now..."

Rocking his hips again - a little more intently - he purrs; "No matter what."

"You know it."

He nuzzles his cheek before moving his hands to his hips, moving to meet him as he pushes against him

"God..." he moans, shivering at the touch like live wires are running through him.

"I haven't been this on edge since I was a teenager."

Letting out a soft laugh, he kisses Murdock hard, opening his mouth with a broad sweep of his tongue. "I love you so damn much..."

"Should I be flattered? Cause I think I am."

He grins as he eagerly accepts the kiss.

"Love you too.... you have no idea..."

[notjustaface]

"You should be very, very flattered..." he moans, sliding one hand down to gently push at Murdock's underwear. Admittedly, he had a little help but that's neither here nor there.

"Because you... do things to me."
